Rough Milling
Rough machining is done to machine a job approximately to size by taking heavy cuts with the objective of removing excess metal as opposed to obtaining a correct size and finish. The purpose of rough machining is to remove material quickly. Large feed rate and higher cutting depth are usually selected to remove as many chips as possible in a short time. Rough machined products have low accuracy, rough surface and high productivity. The rough machining process is usually the preparation of semi-finishing and finishing.
